Question / Help Does using a GPU in a pci express x16 (x4 mode) slot affect NVENC?

I had to add a pci expansion card to my streaming PC (dedicated USB 3 controller) but found that the GPU (1050) fouled the only available slot.
So I moved the GPU to the secondary pci x16 slot, only to discover that it runs in x4 mode.

Will this affect NVENC encoding?

Asus m5a97 pro.

Actually just realised I can use the short x1 expansion card in a x16 slot, so might just pop it back there, if there is a problem with encoding?

You want the video card running in x16 mode.

If it's ending up in x4, you're going to have MAJOR performance issues before OBS is even loaded.

Thanks, I just changed it back around and all is good.

For a 2012 PC set up, this thing works pretty well for streaming. :)
