Question / Help Does OBS support Quicksync HEVC

I'm interested for local recording, does OBS Studio support Quicksync HEVC?

No OBS does not support HEVC for any encoders. However, it does support Quicksync h.264.

Has anyone been able to use Quicksync h264 in OBS with a directshow capture card such as:

How do you do it? Do you need a directshow wrapper for quicksync

I am not extremely familiar with using capture cards in obs but it doesn't matter which encoder you use, when creating a scene you add the capture card as a source i think it shows up as a video capture device. It should work.

thanks C-Dude. Can you do a test for me and select Video Capture Device and select your webcam and see if it works with quicksync? If that works, the capture card probably does too. They are both likely directshow devices. Much appreciated.

it wouldn't matter what the device is if it works in OBS it will work in QuickSync. If it shows up and records with any other encoders it will as well with QuickSync. If it is directshow it will work.
