Do I need 2 devices when using backup stream?

Hi, I want to set up a backup stream for streaming from OBS to Youtube on my back-up. Do I need two devices for this?
I was thinking connecting the camera to my macbook an use on this macbook as primary internet connection WIFI.
And if this connection is bad, it should switch to 'Mobile Hotspot' on my iPhone with 4G.
But only using this internet connection, while it keeps streaming the OBS from my MacBook with connected camera's.

But is this even possible? Or do I need two devices, both connected to the same camera?
If it is possible, how can I do that?

Looking forward to your help.

understand a backup stream is an option for those that require the stream continue
Next step is consider points of failure (and there are MANY), and which ones do you want to still be able to stream?
for ex is laptop dies? camera? your internet connection? etc

Now, with that said, for reliability, you SHOULD NOT be using WiFi. just don't. get a USB to Ethernet adapter or use a dock. Unless you have WLAN engineer level knowledge, or such a person is helping you, you can NOT count on WiFi (by its nature and design)

Then, if the issue is your Internet connection, there are much easier ways to get a hardware device that will auto-failover to a secondary (including cellular WAN connection).
IF the issue is your laptop failing, then consider all that you are doing in OBS isn't an option from a smartphone and its camera. IS that okay? or do you need a 2nd computer, also running OBS?
again, it is all about what failure you want to be able to overcome, and which ones you'll simply accept a need to stop
*if* the issue is lost stream connections due to computer/internet connection, it is usually much cheaper to fix those issues, than go with a backup stream (unless a simple smartphone stream will suffice and you are in an area with decent cellular bandwidth)
