Do I change any settings after getting a new video card?

Everything runs fine with my computer running OBS now, version 30.1.1
My OS is Windows 10 Pro.
My current video card is a Gigabyte WINDFORCE GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2 GB Video Card.
I'm going to put in a MSI Gaming RTX 3050 Gaming X 6G Graphics Card.

Do I need to change any settings? I didn't see anything specific to the GTX 750 card when I looked through the settings.

Thanks,
Steve in Central Vermont

Are you using NVENC to encode video now? or X.264 (CPU)?
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will respond.

In the mean time, I'd expect best course of action likely
- to update nVidia drivers, being cautious about some of nVidia's 'extras'
- and to be on safe side, I'd be inclined in OBS Studio to change encoder away from NVENC, save/exit, restart OBS Studio and put encoder back to NVENC (... just to be on safe side, make sure any internal settings updated/adjusted, etc. I have NO idea if this is actually necessary. But after decades of IT experience, I can confidently say such a settings back 'n forth can address all kinds of unanticipated 'gotchas')

This is what it is showing now with the GTX 75o Ti card.

So what exactly are you saying? After I switch out the video cards, switch out of NVIDIA NVENC H.264 and change it to X.264, save and exit that. Go back into OBS settings and switch the Video Encoder back to NVENC H.264?

that is what I said, and as I said, just an approach learned from decades of experience elsewhere... which may or may NOT be appropriate/necessary here. It won't hurt.

I recommend removing the currently installed driver before removing the 750 from the PC. It won't work correctly with the new & transition will be much cleaner. Install the new driver after 3050 is installed.

That's exactly what I did. Used the DDU Uninstaller and when it was done removing the drivers, I had it shut down.
Removed the 750 Ti video card and installed the 305, started up the PC and installed the drivers for the new card.
No problems all is working well!!
