Distorted audio on stream

A solution here would be hugely appreciated.

I have my Pioneer mixer outputting audio through NDI into my iPhone, connected to my mixer with Evermix. The audio on the monitor on OBS is perfect. However, when I start to stream, the video comes across fine on the stream, but the audio is terribly distorted.

It's a brand new top spec Macbook Pro so CPU is not the issue (video is being streamed fine anyway). The issue is simply the audio. I've tried streaming on both Mixcloud and Facebook, and it's the same on both.

Looking forward to finding the solution for this!

Im in the same boat. USB 2 guitar cable. works until it doesnt then i get TONS of static. Have to close/re-open OBS to fix it. Very frustrating! Admins.. I have a sample of the audio. I recorded the file and i hear the static in the recording. Does this mean its a MAC issue and not OBS?

Hi, I work in pro audio and am aware of a problem with most recent MacBooks and USB that has been around for a while now - may help you. The issue seems to be around the T2 security chip. Apparently it polls things every so often, such as battery level and others on the USB bus and is set to a higher priority than audio. The result is the Core Audio driver stops for the duration of the poll and restarts after, which is a nightmare!

We’ve been having regular issues ranging from splats to audio completely letting go, requiring a restart. The solution we use is a Caldigit Mini dock - it’s one of the few which has it’s own USB-thunderbolt bridge chip, so bypasses the internal USB poll. Bad news is it’s about £125 here in the UK. Hope this helps you.
