Display problem

I am new to OBS. I am running a webcam in scene 1 and a VLC video source in scene 2. When I run Scene 1 in the Program area of the screen, Scene 2 or the VLC video is not visible or playing in the Preview screen. However, when i play Scene 2 in the Program area, the VLC source is not appearing in the preview area. why cant i see the VLC video in the Preview area when I am running scene 1 in the program area? Quite likely a stupid question but its a genuine problem for me/ Pl help

Because you only see the content of 1 scene at a time. Add your vlc source to scene 1 too if you want to see it there too.

I'm guessing that you are in studio mode - so when vieweing Scene 1, clik on Scene 2 and it will move to the preview window.
Hit 'transition' to swap the two scenes round.

KennyMillar, I am transitioning but the VLC source in the Program area blacks out when transition takes place and it moves to the Preview window. This is really frustrating.
