Hi Everyone,
Forgive me if this has been covered before as I'm new to the site and OBS in general. I was hired by a local church to help fix their live stream as they were having issues getting Facebook to recognize the feed when it was being broadcasted, issue ended up being that the Macbook they were sold during Covid was old and the OS wasn't able to support any of the current browsers. So it was amazing it worked at all.
Any who, had to get them a couple new computers and a new video capture card as their old solution was a BlackMagic UltraStudio 4K 2 that only worked with Thunderbolt 2 ( couldn't get an adapter that would work with a newer PC or Mac). I've gotten things so they are working ok now however I need a bit of info for a few settings I need to change in order to make their live streams look really nice.
So here is the current setup:
Streaming PC- Handles capturing the video feed from their PTZ camera and from the presentation PC (powerpoints, videos). We're currently using a Magewell SDI USB Capture Plus (replaced the UltraStudio as their camera is SDI) and there is an Elgato 60 HD+ to capture the feed from the presentation PC through HDMI.
I have it set so I can transition between the Magewell and the Elgato but I'm running into a few issues with audio that is really throwing me off and I'm not sure how to correct it. I'll try to articulate the issues the best I can but forgive me if i don't get the terminology correct.
Issue 1: I need to set it so that when we transition to the Elgato for Powerpoints the audio feed from the Magewell will be on the livestream as well, currently if we transition to the Elgato the feed from the Pastor's mic doesn't get included. I've tried adding the audio from the Magewell within the device setup but the audio level indicator doesn't appear and the audio doesn't get included. So if we transition to the powerpoint, the folks at home get to see the powerpoint but don't get to hear the pastor. I'm assuming I must be adding the audio device option wrong.
Issue 2: This one isn't as pressing but I would like to get it figured out. If I play a video through the Elgato (HDMI feed) and transition back to the Magewell, the audio from the Elgato will get included on the livestream even though the volume/audio slider for the Elgato isn't present under the Magewell's audio volume area. They don't play videos often but it does seem odd I have the opposite issue for audio when it comes to trying this.
Any help or suggestions would be great.
