Display on ps3/ps4 comes briefly before black screen

Hi All,

I cannot find the solution to this problem and its killing me. I have a 4k video capture device from Amazon. It has hdmi in and hdmi out. I plugged in into my laptop and pc and I get the same thing. Display is output to my tv without a problem but to my laptop and Obs, I get no display but the sound works.

The interesting thing is, if I take out my hdmi cable from the hdmi in port (connected to laptop/pc) and plug it back in, for a brief moment, the picture from my ps3/ps4 is displayed and then it goes black. This happens every time I do this.

Any ideas what might be causing this on obs studio?

No one has any ideas? Maybe the device is just faulty?

So I think the device was just faulty, got a new one and this just works. Might not be but no one seems to know and I just couldn't work it out so got another cheap device.
