Disabling NDI source inconsistent behaviour

I have two Windows machines each with OBS 27.2.4 operating in studio mode. Both machines have a scene that includes a single NDI source (an Alpha channel coming from propresenter) - call them NDI-Scene and NDI-Source. There is also a scene that has a single camera scene. A third scene has two sources, the camera scene and the NDI scene. I wanted, and expected, to be able to remove the NDI overlay from the Program view, I thought disabling the NDI-Source source in the NDI-Scene would do this - I initially used Companion to do this, but doing it with the NDI-Scene in Preview has the same effect. When I disabled the NDI source it was not removed from the Program view, although it was from the Preview and any subsequent scenes that were triggered to Program. I then tried this on my other machine and the NDI overlay was removed from the Program view immediately.
The main difference between the machines is on the first machine, where the overlay remained, the ProPresenter NDI is coming from a different machine. On the second machine ProPresenter is running locally.
I didn't note the NDI version running on the machines, there is no problem in the NDI operation on either machine though.
Why might OBS be operating differently on these machines? Is there a configuration setting I've missed on one machine?
