Question / Help Disable Update

Hi new here so forgive me if this is answered else where or this is the wrong place,

I work for an education institution and we want to be able to control the deployment of updates to OBS.
Why??
1) Because when teaching a class you need everyone to be using the same version (we have labs of 100+ machines)
2) Its very disruptive to have messages popping up on machines announcing the arrival of a new update (with a 1 hour class spending 15 min telling everyone to ignore the update is 25% of the class lost)
3) our users do not have administrator privileges so they could not update the software even if they agree.
4) we use a software distribution system called Cloudpaging. Basically its like app-v but it works much better. This allows us to deploy specific versions of software and "upgrade" it at will.

So my question,

Can I disable auto checking for updates?
Can I disable the "check for Updates" option on the menu?
Can I disable the Update process within OBS totally?

Thanks for any assistance.

You can disable the update check in the settings:

This still allows manual update checks. If you wish to block all updates, deny the user access to the %APPDATA%\obs-studio\updates folder. This will prevent downloading of the update manifest.

Thanks for your post KrisSmith. And thanks, too, for your very informative reply, R1CH!
Just to clarify... by unchecking "Automatically check for updates, on startup," not only will it stop checking for updates, but no updates will automatically be uploaded automatically, whatsoever. We will have to check and upload manually. Correct? I have heard that is is best not to rush to download this soon to be released version 28, since the new OBS version 28 software will likely have lots of bugs for Mac users... many of the plugins that work smoothy with the current OBS version (27.2.4), will not work (until these plugins eventually get updates). Correct?
