I bought a new xcapture-1 that is constantly choppy. Though the picture is supposed to be 60 fps, many frames are dropped or skipped throughout the capture.

Here is an example video. Note how the cursor movement is super choppy near the start, smooths out a couple seconds in, then begins skipping frames again near the end.
In constrast, testing the capture in virtualdub results in perfectly smooth 60 fps with no missed frames.
