Digital Piano Disconnecting Sound on Stream (Gain Filter)

Hi,

I have an issue with OBS having to restart when digital piano output cracking noise on stream very often. It seems to occur frequently when audio output for the piano has gain filter added. I use the filter because it makes small sound on full volume. I don't think it's the piano's issue because it doesn't affect its direct sound output(headphones) and only happens when I hear from the stream. It sounds like fast repeatedly disconnecting sound, not exactly cracking. I have to keep restarting OBS until it works properly. Once it starts working, it goes on without problem for a while. But, still happens sometimes even so.

Could I get some help with this? It sucks to keep having to restart the whole stream every time.

My piano is Yamaha MX88 model. Windows 7. OBS 26.1.1 (64 bit)

Thank you!

With the given infos it's impossible to say anything than that you normally shoud fix audio gain problems on recording gear to go with good levels at pre amp - thats the way to go, not with software gain filters... See if your soundcard can switch from line-in (which it really should be, as of the mx88 outputs line-level signal) to mic-in, maybe you gain some volume with the input. Check Windows microphone input levels, they might not be optimal if the sound is on low level... I would say it's a problem with your recording gear/drivers with obs if you get audio buffer under runs, but yeah, dunno... if you don't already have a good external usb soundcard, you maybe could invest for some model with compo xlr-jack input connections, so you no need a jack-rca to mini-jack adapter, but you can directly plug the jack-jack cable from your keyboard and set the input levels accordingly.

makes sense! I will try to resolve it with your suggestions when I stream again. I really appreciate the thoughts.
