Question / Help Different Filters for same Webcam in Different Scenes?

Hi,

I'm just curious, because I can't figure out how to do this myself. Maybe I'm dense. But is there currently a way to have one scene use a certain crop or image mask filter on my webcam and have another scene have a completely different kind of crop?

I'd like to have a full screen 16x9 webcam scene and game scene with a 4x3 webcam down in the corner. Currently I've been manually turning off my 4x3 crop filter for the Webcam object when I switch over to the full-screen scene since filter settings seem to be universal, which is cumbersome at best. I'd like help figuring out a more elegant solution.

Thanks for any help!

Chris

Yeah I just noticed this shortcoming aswell. Looking forwards to when it's fixed. Another thing I noticed is muting audio on one scene mutes it aswell on other scenes.

Any news on this update? It would be really nice to have full, uncropped facecam for one scene during my livestreams while still maintaining the crop for the gameplay scene.

Hey guys,

I saw this post and decided to join one year later. I managed to find my workarounds, but they are kinda ugly and drain the juice out of my pc, so it would be awesome if there are any news on this feature. Even if its not planned for the next 6 months is still an info

Worked perfectly !

Thanks mate !

You can solve this creating a scene only with the webcam. The apply the filters on the scene and import into another scene. Sorry for my english.

Right now the recommended solution to this is to make a scene containing the source, then add that scene to the scene where you want the filtered version of the source to appear, and apply the filter to the scene source. Unfortunately a more formal fix is still down the priority chain.

I tried using the "scene in scene" solution, but it doesn't seem to work as described here. My use case: include two versions of the webcam in two different scenes - one scene will have a mask on the cam, the other will not.

Here is what I've done:
1. Create a scene "Webcam Scene" with only the webcam video source
2. Create a scene "Scene A" referencing "Webcam Scene"
3. Apply filters & masks to "Webcam Scene" reference in "Scene A"

When I go back to the "Webcam Scene" itself, it now has filters applied to it. I was expecting the filters to only apply to the reference being used in "Scene A" but they instead get applied to the original scene itself.

Any pointers? Am I doing something wrong?

Ahhhh... I needed another copy! So for each version of the webcam I want to manipulate, I need to create another scene. I think that makes sense :)

Thanks!

I tried susliks setup but i wasn't able to async my came with that setup

I found a very easy solution for this problem nobody thougt of
Unfortunetly i am using the german version of OBS but i'll try to explain it.
If you are streaming on twitch you have to enter a code.
If you want to stream on youtube you have to use a different code.
You can make a shortcut for this profils.
so you don't have to change the code arround every time you just change the profile.

there is a simular operation for scenes. it is called scene collection.
in there you can make 2 different scene profiles with different cam and audio settings as filter

no mutiple scene conections are required.
as i click capture my cam shuts down for 2 sec and than turns on again with a async cam. as i click on pc stream my cam shuts down and turns on again and is sync again. same counts for audio ajustments

@kokushu the solution you providing is not the best thing, because changing the Scene Collections on the fly (while you online) causing undesirable deactivating and reactivating sources. Can you describe in details this part:
...but i wasn't able to async my came with that setup...
Because it is not clear what your issue is

Btw, now you can use groups to do the same thing. Create two separate groups, each with the webcam as the source, and you can apply different filters to the groups themselves.

Depending on your use case, this may be more straight forward. Or it may cause more confusion. But it's there as an option now.
