Question / Help Device not listed as a possible "Source" for video capture

I am trying to transfer old camcorder home videos to digital and bought a firewire and PCI card. The PCI card is recognized by the computer but does not show up as a dropdown choice for "Device" when i try to set up my Sources under OBS. Any troubleshooting tips welcome, thanks.

Have you tried it in OBS Studio 32-bit? Firewire is on the old side at this point, and it may be that they only have 32-bit drivers for the card, which will not show up in the (default) 64-bit version of OBS Studio.

If you've already done that, chances are good that the PCI card is not providing a UVC video standard compliant device, and will only work with their own recorder software. You can try opening their software, then Window Capturing it and cropping it down so only the video is showing.
