Question / Help Detecting Audio

Im using a capture card to capture a game and with the original OBS i was able to choose the "Use device audio" option within the sources device setting, but with the new obs studio it's not that easy and or i just can't seem to find the option to make it work.

Yes i know if the capture card works and yes i do know if there is audio being brought through the card.

is there something i'm missing?

Are you using the new Razer Ripsaw? If so there are confirmed problems with it as far as OBS Studios goes. It can only capture audio if you output to desktop.

And with "Capture Audio Only" after checking your recordings or the output side of your stream, is there audio or not?

Does the problem persist when relaying through avermedia's stream engine instead of a direct capture?

Nope sound works fine in both regular obs and REcentral 2, i can hear everything from the captured device, it's just in obs studio it seems like there is an audio option not on or not working.

Except it's Avermedia's software that allows OBS to communicate with the card in the first place, and there's no such audio problems with other cards when using the same settings.

Im posting here to add my thoughts as this issue has been present for a while now. I assumed it would have been addressed by now, but OBS studio is still not picking up any audio when set to "Capture audio only"

It is most definitely 100% an issue with OBS because every other piece of software, including the old OBS works fine. Only Studio has this issue.
