Desktop capture is slower than real time

I'm using OBS studio as a backup recorder for corporate Zoom meetings. My OBS recordings are always slower than my zoom recordings. This means if I have an hour of zoom recordings, the OBS ones come back at like 1:20, with noticeably slower audio and video.

I've see a few topics about this, but the consensus seems to be "get a better computer." Probably not my issue as here's my two computer's specs:

1. Desktop - Xeon Silver 4112 2.6Ghz, 32GB ram, Radeon Pro WX 7100, SSD
2. Laptop - i7-4610M 3Ghz, 16GB ram, Intel 4600 (boo), regular type hard drive

I do a massive amount of video encoding, audio work, Zooms, even occasionally light 3D rendering, hi res photo. I've not had the computer balk at the work.

This leads me to think I'm missing a setting somewhere. I've tried various combos of frame rate and sampling rate. It's all still coming out slow. This means I have to re-encode a crap ton of video to match up for every session. Not feasible.

Someone please tell me what is going on here!
