Desktop audio sounds wierd

My friend has had this problem for a while now. For some reason my voice/desktop audio sounds wierd on his end. We've looked around for an answer to this and can't seem to find one. We are also having trouble figuring out what exactly is going on.

You can hear that my voice on my end is much clearer than my voice on his end.
Anyone have any suggestions?

3 reasons
1.Bad Quality settings of Voice Chat software (unreal by the fact the friend sounds identical , only you have the Gain issue)
2.If he not Changed the "audio" with filters by Hand (Voice chat software) (OBS)
3.Then it sounds like he is using " volume equalization"
it pulls up/down the sounds to a equal level so if the level down it in voice chat software the soundcard adds gain
it feels like a +gain from a -gain source
2/3 realistic or a combination of it
