Question / Help Desktop Audio not recording on MSI laptop

Hi,

So I'm fairly new to OBS studio, but I've ran into a problem whilst trying to record. OBS is only capturing my Mic audio but not the desktop audio (I have the slider all the way to the right and I've just left the output at default).
I don't seem to be able to find a solution to this issue as it only seems to relate to Mac users.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what is happening here in general?

First of all make sure that the default audio device is the audio device that actually produces sound for you. If that's the case compare the meters of the audio channel in OBS with the one in the Windows sound properties dialogue. They must be identical, otherwise it's the wrong input device/channel.
