Question / Help Desktop Audio and mic problem

Hello :)

After hours and hours of switching settings and testing, reading forums and asking google I finally decided to post my problems here and hope someone has or finds the solution for them.

Okay...the problems. The moment I start streaming my desktop audio (Spotify, Game Audio, voices of the others in TS) stutters/skips/tears/lags (don't really know how to call it) in stream and my mic starts adding a scratch sound (in stream and also in TS). My CPU is about 9-10% when I stream and everything on my end is still working perfectly (TS, Spotify, game+game sound, etc).

What I already tried because it was called a solution in forums or I thought it could fix it:
-setting priority back to normal (was above normal)
-increasing/decreasing the audio bitrate
-increasing my bitrate and my buffersize
-changing the profile
-switching the server
-using 44.1khz instead of 48khz
-using bilinear instead of bicubic
-using 2 different output sources of my mic for TS and OBS
-installing CoreAudio Encoder (at least I think that's what the iTunes encoder is called OBS is using now)
-probably several things I forgot ;)

Here my latest log file even though it doesn't say much...maybe it helps anyways:

Also here's a link to some short test streams to hear both problems:

Hope you guys are able to help me and thanks in advance ;)

Hi,

I've noticed in the log that you are using VB-Audio Virtual Cable which can cause this kind of issue. Can you confirm when this VB-Audio Virtual Cable is being used? e.g. if your saying (Spotify, Game Audio, voices of the others in TS) stutters/skips/tears/lags in the stream but everything on my end is still working perfectly (TS, Spotify, game+game sound, etc) then are you just using the VB-Cable for the streamin audio output? hence you can't hear the issue?

I use the adio cable to filter my sound with Reaper (filter out noise and add a limiter). I use this for TS and my stream but even if I use my mic as output directly in OBS these problems occur.

I am running an Asus Xonar Phoebus and I just checked the drivers again...still the latest ones.

I tried using the mic in of the card directly (the sound card has a control box to make access easier) and to use the mobo sound...results were the same sadly.

I've seen this before on a few games when they are loaded up, a recent one was 7 Days to die Alpha 15 pre experimental but I can't recall what they did to resolve it, though It was on the forums.

My only other suggestion is to try another sound card if you have one around to see if it still has the issue then at least you know if it is the Asus Xonar Phoebus or something software related.

I have no other sound cards sadly so I can't test that....still thanks for trying to find a solution :)

Okay I finally fixed the problem. The settings of the VB audio cable caused the problem (even if it wasnt used). The moment you set all sample rates in the audio cable settings to the same value (internal, input and output) and fill in a proper latency the problem is gone. Thanks for the help anyway.
