Deinterlacing Yadif 2x or Yadif causes Stuffering and drop in FPS

Hello,

When I set the deinterlacing to Yadif 2x or Yadif the preview window of OBS starts showing massive stuttering and the fps in the bottom right drops to approx 6fp.
I have read the both these interlacing methods are CPU intensive but the CPU in the bottom right is low at 2.5%.
This is without even starting the the stream. Every other deinterlacing method can be chosen without issue.
Is there a reason for this? Thank you for any assistance.

Rory

Thank you for your response.
I think this is correct. I was turning the deinterlacer from blend to linear to yadif in case it pointed to something obvious.

Any ideas @cyclemat or anyone really? It has to be something obvious and specific to these two encoders because if it was general it would find many people complaining about it.

your CPU is Older than my son
Hahaha! Fair, it is an HP Proliant 1U server so there is no space to install a proper GPU but I will try a GTX 750 next week and see if it helps. But even when using any other de-interlacing method while streaming 1920x1080 25fps the CPU rarely climbs above 60%.

When Yadif is selected the computer grinds to a halt and becomes very sticky even when not streaming but the CPU remains <5% and when streaming it remains comparatively low.
I could understand if the CPU was 80-90%.

Hopefully the GTX will help. Thank you for the advise. I will report back.
