Hi,

I really enjoy this product and would like to use it for documentation purposes but my security software has quarantined the uninstall.exe file, so now I'm not so sure about using it. I'm not sure why, but I figure you might want to know. There may be something within the code that's vulnerable in that file.

Best regards.

This is the first report I read about such an issue. If this file has some issue in the original OBS Studio distribution, we would have heard about this in the past already, since the current version of OBS is many months old and its installation base is probably in the million.

Conclusion: Either your machine is infected with some malware and also infected OBS during install, or your security software is giving a false alarm.

Since I never ever heard of that security software and never saw it in any test+comparison report, which makes it a software with unknown reputation, I assume the latter.

It's of course also possible you obtained OBS from an untrusted source that modified the installer.
Download and install again from the original: https://obsproject.com/download
