Hey

I was wondering if there is a way to get my 3440x1440 resolution down to around 1080p i dont care if it doesnt show the whole screen. I just thought it be easier for people that are watching the videos that dont have the resolution to see something.
When i try display capture it shows at full resolution and if i crop it by right clicking the and going on filters it crops it but the output is is just a squashed version of it and all around is still black.

does anybody have some tips i could do to get this to work?

thanks, and btw mad props to the developers!

You could scale the 21:9 down to a 16:9 base, and then fill the top and bottom areas with graphics/announcements/alerts, etc.

To do that, set your base resolution to 1920x1080 or 1280x720 or 1600x900, and then scale your game capture down to fit in that area and vertically center it. Then add all your graphics/extras in the black bars at the top and bottom.

If the above doesn't work for you, you could set your base resolution to a 16:9 resolution, and then scale/crop your game to fit the preview window in OBS.

thanks for the fast answer, but i dont really want to stream or record game footage, i want to make a couple tutorial videos for friends and family and maybe youtube. If iwanted to record gaming footage i could just play in windowed version and make it record window instead of the display capture.
anyway, i dont think anybody is going to see anything on the OS if i have stuff hanging around above and below.
so there is no way to have the preview window show 1080p and then i just make my desktop fit into that? i also played with the video output settings, and that just squashed everything. hope this makes any sense what i typing, i have a hard time explaining things =X

1. Set your base resolution to a 16:9 resolution.
2. Add your display capture and scale it so it fills the vertical space (this means you'll lose the sides).
3. Hold down the shift key, and drag the left/right side of the source. This will 'pinch' the source. Move those sides so that your display capture will fit within your 16:9 base resolution.
