OBS-MP crashes as soon as it runs with a crash notification. OBS-MP had been running fine but the issue seems to have begun since the latest radeon driver 16.1. Moreover it looks getting worse- crash doesn't disappear even if I roll back to the previous one(15.11.1b). I also managed to use Display Driver Uninstaller for clean unistall..

Please, help me out, also thank you in advance.

Hm, seems to be a crash in the media foundation VCE encoder. I really need to make a safe mode link in start menu.

To fix or reset your settings (and go back to defaults):
- Press Windows Key + R and paste this in: %appdata%\obs-studio\basic\profiles
- If you just want to reset all your settings, you can just delete your profile folder and start up obs again
- Otherwise, open your profile folder
- Open basic.ini with a text editor
- in the [Ouptut] section, set mode to Simple

If you didn't reset, then setting it to simple output mode will cause it to not try to start up the encoder, though you'll be back to x264 there, but you can go back to advanced output mode and change the encoder.

Hello, Jim. I appreciate for your reply.
Profile reset didn't work sadly. I tried complete uninstallation of OBS-MP but it crashes the same even with a clean one.

What about if you go to the install directory, then go to plugins/32bit (or plugins/64bit if using 64bit), and deleting win-mf.dll? Just as a test. Does that fix the issue?

It WORKED! OBS-MP launches without crash. I wish I could understand what was the reason behind, but I should admit that this is beyond my knowledge. Only what I can tell is thank you. :D

*tried to fix some typo. sorry for bad English.

*added 'AMD VCE related' to the thread title so people may serach for the same stuff more easily.

Same problem here. obs crashed out of nowhere
i had the "old" 15.3 amd driver installed. An upgrade to the new 16.3 changed nothing. i deleted "win-mf.dll" and obs starts up again...
