Question / Help crashes before opening

macbook pro updated all software, jumps up and down than crashes, mac os mojave version 10.14.6 15" macbook pro Retina, mid 2015

your help greatly appreciated
 
There should be a log file under in OBS' Application Support folder (/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/obs-studio/logs), would be helpful if you could find and paste anything crash-related from the latest file there.

Also if you say "it crashes", usually it should show macOS' own crash report window (with the option to restart OBS) - does that one appear?

yes it does----sorry not too smart parkinsons slowed me down

No bother. You'd need to copy and paste that crash report here, otherwise we'd be no wiser what might be the reason for your crash.
 
Delete:

~/Library/Application Support/obs-studio

You will lose profiles and scene collections, so you may wish to back up the folder first.
 
Same thing with me. It started by crashing on start up since upgrading my iMac to iOS 10.15. I deleted the application support files and reinstalled the program. That allows me to get into the program, reset everything, but when I try to bring a camera in the scene, it crashed. Crash Report added below.
