This a minor problem since it rarely comes up but is annoying none the less. It seems that the game crashes whenever you close out of a game that you are actively trying to record. I haven't seemed to find a solution for this.
This issue was already reported in a Windows 10 OS. However, I am reporting this in order to indicate that this issue affects Linux as well as Windows.

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04. My specs are an i5-7500, GTX 1060 6GB with 8GB of RAM.
