I read the Jan 2015 "High CPU Usage..." post at the top of the Forum.
Here's my problem. My CPU usage is really high on my main computer (1) and I am
trying to fix it.
I have various scenes on it some with 1 cam, some with 2 cams and one with 3 cams.
The 3 cam scene is using 60% + of CPU power!
I recently installed 1 cam on a second computer (2) with OBS.
The hardware on these computers is exactly the same. The main
difference between the computers is that (1) is maxed out in disk space
and it has a ton of software installed.
Computer (2) has very few apps installed and a ton of free disk space.
I was amazed when I saw the CPU usage on (2) yesterday showing
1 cam in OBS. It was only 1.6% CPU !!!
So today I decided to set up my (2) computer so that it will become
my primary computer.
The first thing I did was plug in all of my USB webcams (4 of them) into
(2) computer.
I fired her up, made new scenes and was shocked!
These were the results:
3 Cams: 52% CPU
1 Cam: 43% CPU
0 Cams: 17% CPU
Can anyone here explain what the heck is going on?
Before I made the swap (when I was using Computer (1) and I turned off
all the cams, the CPU usage was around 6%.
I am totally baffled.
