Question / Help CPU Running Higher Than Normal

I have an older PC, so I know it might just be at the point where it's getting too old. That in mind, when I use Hauppauge/whatever I'm streaming, I'm usually hovering around 17-18% CPU usage (with it spiking for donations or something), never hurts the stream. This is as of a few days ago. I start up tonight and my CPU is hovering at 21-23% with spikes overloading everything. Any help would be appreciated. Here's my latest log.

1. Disable Windows 10 Game Mode.
2. Make sure your Anti-Virus (if you have any installed) isn't messing with OBS, and if it has it's own "Game mode", disable that (e.g. Eset has that).

1. Game mode is disabled
2. It doesn't seem like my anti-virus is messing with OBS

I turned off hardware acceleration on Discord too

Nothing has worked thus far, still hovering at 22% when I'm live. With OBS eating more CPU than everything else I have running.

I am having the same problem. It just started two days ago. If I do anything at all on the computer while streaming, OBS goes up to 45% cpu on it's own with cpu hitting 99% and I get the high encoding message bottom left. Nothing at all has changed with my settings and no new programs.

AMD Ryzen 1700 3.65GHz
16GB DDR 4
GTX 1050Ti

Sometimes with the bigger Windows updates, MS will revert the GPU driver to a different/earlier one. This can cause crashes and/or performance loss. Can you try doing a clean GPU driver install with the latest driver available for your setup?

You can perform a clean driver installation for your GPU by following the instructions at http://obsproject.com/forum/resources/performing-a-clean-gpu-driver-installation.65/
