So today I wanted to start streaming live to twitch. I tried OBS before, but I downloaded OBS Station today and set it up completely.
But now when I close down all and everything I can without it having an impact on my gaming experience (which means also activating Razer Cortex Game Booster) I get to 5% CPU usage. When I start Rocket League which I took as a test example, I get to 20-30% CPU usage.
But now, when I start OBS, CPU usage gets to 70-100% and makes even training in Rocket League impossible due to 20-25 FPS. This happens no matter what scaled resolution (lowest I tried is 360p; using bilinear), what bitrate (lowest I tried is 256), what encoder (tried all 3 with the highest performance presets they have), what webcam resolution/fps (lowest 240p with 15 fps), no matter if I enable preview or not, if I stream or not.
With preview disabled AND not streaming and not recording, CPU usage is at 80%.
My CPU is Intel i7-4700HQ (2 year old 1000€ gaming notebook). Full specs in attachment file.
