Question / Help CPU only using 3-5%, frames never pass 22fps

Pretty uninformed about this topic, but some issues I seem to be having are low frame rates while OBS is not recording or streaming. Another strange thing I've discovered is that I get an fps bump to 30 when the settings window is open, fps drops back to around 20 when settings window is closed.

Not entirely sure why but when I disable Studio Mode, the CPU % goes normal (around 15-20%) and FPS jumps to a solid 60. Streaming and Recording is solid 60fps. Any idea why it can’t be in Studio Mode to work properly?

Is this "not reaching target speed" related to the GPU capacities of the host Mac ?
OpenGL enabled or not ?
Discrete gfx card or not ?
Any hope that there wil be one day a verified hardware specs requirement list issued ?

Not being capable to be in the studio mode with a real preview-programviz ( and using the multiview UI ) makes that app look a bit underwhelming for OSX users ...

As far as I know none of those things matter. Whatever your target FPS is, having studio mode on reduces it because of the way the dual preview window is drawn. It doesn't affect the multiview window, so the only workaround I'm aware of is this:

Turn on windowed multiview.

Turn on the Stats window.

Set hotkeys for your scenes and the Transition button.

Turn on studio mode.

Minimize the main OBS window.

Select Finder or some other application as front-most.

You should now be able to select scenes and transition them while viewing the results in the Multiview window with a greatly minimized hit to framerate (but not NO impact).

For instance I just did a test and with the main window showing the studio mode previews, FPS dropped from 30 to 16.

With the above workaround, the framerate hovers between 26 and 30.
