Question / Help CPU maxs out on Traktor S4 when using OBS

I am using a S4 and the problem is that when I start streaming, the cpu indicator on the Traktor screen goes to max and clips out the music. I have tried adjusting the video resolution as well as the audio bitrate etc but it still happens. My laptop has 2 htz so is fast enough to cope, but I am struggling to make it work for the live streams. Can you help?

Nope it is not fast enough. Streaming eats CPUs alive. And Native Instruments Traktor Pro and other DJ/DAW solutions are extremly picky when it comes to CPU usage. You cant just hit 60% on the CPU load just for the stream and expect the DJ software to perform well.

You have multiple soltions: stream from a different PC/laptop, use QuickSync or NVenc if your laptop supports it, drop the settings further so OBS will not cause more than 30% CPU usage while streaming. I'm talking about peak load, not average load.
The ideal mobile CPU for streaming DJ-sets blah is an i7 6700HQ or a fullsized 6700 inside a laptop, there are some laptops out there with that CPU. Problems with that: expensive as fk, heavy as fk, too hot to be used in nightclubs without proper cooling and they will overheat while DJing at a beach party :D

Thank you Cryonic for your info. However just 1 more point....If I am using my turntables through the S4 it seems to work fine??? It has baffled me as I have also done livestreams using S4 and my Laptop and it has worked fine. The only changes i have made are updating the OBS software. Would that be where the problem is?
Cheers

I cant tell you much without OBS logs and general information. Just try to find some settings that might work, but i can tell you that your laptop is underpowered for streaming alone, specially while DJing it is simply not enough for high quality streams.
