Question / Help Could use a little help with audio setup

So I'm running obs on Windows 10 using an elgato game capture hd60 to input video and audio feed from my game system. This is basically what I'm trying to do and I could use a little help on figuring out how to do it:

We are not streaming. We simply want to record the video feed of the game we are playing with our own separate audio feeds and the game audio being recorded as well as the game video of course. We have two Logitech USB/3.5mm headsets that we are using (one per person of course)

I know how to setup separate audio tracks but it seems that one headset constantly comes in quieter than the other and we don't know why that is. We also want it so that we can hear the game audio as well as one another in our headsets as we play. While the game audio comes in fine on both our headsets, it seems as though we are both having difficulties hearing one another chat, with me not being heard at all in his headset while I can hear him just fine (and my audio feed not coming in all the way on the recording but his is). We were originally using a USB hub but even without we are still having issues. Can anyone walk me through how to do this? Thank you

What you're trying to do is very difficult to do in software and comes with a multitude of problems, the worst of which is with the latency -- it makes talking between the two of you near impossible.

What you really need is to use a mixer, and go the analog route with audio.

Well thanks to a fellow redditor, we solved some of our issues. Using Voicemeeter Banana and Digital Cable, we now have game audio in both headsets.

But we are not getting any audio when we record now, cant hear one another chat in our headsets and the game audio is coming in quieter on one headset. Not sure what to do here
