While I have a game open I can see it whether I am recording or not but if I close the game it goes blank. I have the particular game added as a source and the recorded part is added as well and when clicked on you can see that the game is there as it has the bounding box there however it is black and I can't see it. I am on a pc not a laptop any other sources can be seen. I am not planning on streaming just recording videos and then editing them to upload different places. I want to get this fixed before I even try working with my audio.which is my other issue is I can't figure out how I would add on more video and splice them together i haven't been able to find any tutorials on that either. can i get any help with this?

Just tested it and every other capture works except my video game captures it seems. I tried all types of the video game captures and every time i shut the game down it is a black screen when I pull the video up in an editing software the sound is there the vidoe is now although the picture of the video is there when you see the thumbnail .

Its been over a week, Well, then I guess no one cares to answer me so I guess I'll have to find something else to help me with editing. nice to know ppl will help out someone.

OBS can only capture a game while it is open. If you close, quit, or minimize the application you are capturing, OBS can no longer capture it.

OBS is not a video editor. To do this you need an editing program, such as Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, or DaVinci Resolve (free).
