I was considering running OBS on a server side on my own URL that's hosted on an external computer.
It's main purpose is to turn a video of a very specific format namely 32x9 side by side full ratio 3D 2560 by 720 into 3 or 4 different 1280x720 video formats, namely left eye only, right eye only, 16x9 side by side half for 3D TVs, and monochromised anaglyph for red and cyan glasses.
Currently I could press a switch and select the different scene and get any one of those four other conversions. I understand to be all things to all people I have to run the feed with most information which is 32 by 9 side by side full ratio and then use a server side OBS to down convert to one of those other four formats upon request.
I never used linux, so I don't know how easy it is. But I already done the work for OBS to video convert on the fly. I understand when I broadcast, I broadcast the full information and the remote versions of the OBS convert it to a different form.
Also I'd like to know if there is a way I can refer to a URL like twitch.tv/tripletopper using myself as an example, which one set up will broadcast in 32 by 9 and then after that the output will be on my own URL tripletopper.net, and then from there people could watch one of four different 16x9 formats depending on what 3D options they want.
