Question / Help Controlling VLC video source with multiple videos

I am fairly new to OBS but I am really liking it. I am using it to produce and live stream a panel discussion show. The panelists are in front of a green screen and the background I use with it contains basically a nice room with a big screen on the wall. I've been successful at scaling and layering in a VLC source over the background in that source and I also have a fullscreen source of the video. That works great! I can start with the video playing in 'tv' on the wall and then transition to it full screen (and back of course.) Very happy with that.

A typical show has many video clips (and/or photos) in it and sometimes the presenters want to either skip one or replay one again. I can't see any other way to do this than to set up as many sources as I have videos. I originally put all of the videos in a single VLC source but I haven't been able to figure out how to navigate within the list of videos in that source. The fact that the videos/photos vary in size is another issue that makes me think separate sources is the answer...

Am I missing something?

Nope, you're not missing anything. Separate sources is one way. Another way would be to not use the VLC source but either window or display with window crop the VLC or another player, and use the app's playlist controls to navigate between videos.

I'm also interested into two simple things: playback controls (not hotkeys) for simple functions like stop, play, next, previous, etc. Second thing, really needed in my opinion is an option to live edit or dinamically change the clips inside current-streaming VLC playlist. There simply should be an option to insert additional clips, remove some, change order, etc. Please implement all of this, these are really a basic functions of a great streaming program which OBS definitely already is.

I'm desperate for an option to make a video STOP after it plays in this VLC playlist. I have lots of little videos, and would love to dump them all into vlc play list and have them play one, then stop automatically until I reveal the scene again/ press a button
