Question / Help Constant buffering in Twitch.

Hi.
I've just started using OBS. I'm having issues streaming on Twitch. I've been fiddling around for the last six hours with ho luck. I've tried playing around with bitrate (vid 3500 to 800, aud 160 to 32), resolution, file location (old HDD to SDD), file quality, you name it. I've monitored wifi u/l d/l, CPU, memory, disk usage. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. I'm hoping I'm just missing something stupid.

There aren't any issues apart from a tiny amount of packet drop during one stream which you probably wouldn't notice anyway.

The sweet spot for non-partnered streamers is 720p 30fps with a bitrate somewhere between 2000 and 2500 kbps have you tried that setting specifically?

If viewers are always buffering then the likelihood is that you are using too high a bitrate for them to receive cleanly.

Hi Adrian.

Thanks for the reply, it's really appreciated. Whilst I know little of OBS I am from an audio background (or was) and have done a little post ten fifteen years ago. I'd say I was an educated novice. I did swat up a bit before I started using the software. I have tried 2000-2500, I haven't tried anything lower that 30 FPS, I've tried 1280x720 or lower. My upload rate averages about 5mps with a download of around 75mps, so should be fine.
I kept a close eye on my wifi, CPU, memory, disk performance; the lot. I'll figure it out. It's taken seven hours of playing around, to no avail but it's all good experience.

Thanks.

Cheers Sapiens.

It didn't really help but I do feel I learnt something out of it. I'm going to try reconstructing the scene in a different way, one thing I noticed this morning was it tended to buffer in the same places. It's a small possibility but I can't get hardwired until payday (literally started using OBS the day I moved my office to the other side of the apartment, away from the router). Will need to get some Cat5 and RJ45 ends.
