Recently, approximately two weeks ago, I purchased the VEDO VD800 condenser microphone with the intention of enhancing my recording and streaming setup.
Previously, I relied on the microphone attached to my headset, the Multilaser PH219 Warrior, for recording and streaming on OBS. Although it captured a significant amount of background noise, it performed adequately without any popping or crackling sounds. However, upon receiving my new microphone, I decided to test it on other software applications like Audacity, where it worked flawlessly. Unfortunately, when I attempted to use it with OBS, the popping issue emerged.
Initially, I suspected that the filters I used might be causing an overload, so I disabled all of them (as they are disabled in the video below). Still, the popping problem persisted. Then, I considered the possibility of an external factor, so I connected only the microphone to its USB port, excluding all other devices. Despite my efforts, the issue persisted. To further troubleshoot, I extensively recorded with the microphone across various software applications, and no issues were encountered.
Next, I turned to the internet to see if other people might have faced similar issues. I found a lot of videos on the topic, however, none of them helped me. In an attempt to address the problem, I adjusted OBS to a frequency of 48 kHz, matching the microphone's frequency, yet the issue remained unresolved. I also enabled all recording and playback sources on my computer and set them to 48 kHzr, including VB Input and Output, still to no avail. Then, I disabled and disconnected any unnecessary devices, but the popping problem persisted. Similarly, within OBS, I muted all audio sources except the ones I was using, yet the issue persisted.
Some videos I watched suggested lowering the Open Threshold value of the Noise Gate, but I hadn't even enabled Noise Gate, so that couldn't be the cause. Starting to panic, I performed a clean uninstallation of both VB audio and OBS, followed by a reinstallation of OBS to the latest version, but the problem persisted. As a last resort, I uninstalled OBS once again and installed Streamlabs to determine if it would make any difference, but the issue persisted in Streamlabs as well.
There were numerous other troubleshooting methods I attempted, but I can't remember all of them at the moment, as I have been tirelessly working on this issue for several days without any success. If necessary, I am willing to conduct additional tests; please feel free to request them. I sincerely appreciate your patience and kindly ask for your assistance, as I am at a loss for what to do. Thank you in advance for your help.
