Make sure your bios is fully up to date.

If it is, and you're overclocking, you will need to dial it back a bit. Crashes like this in x264 indicate hardware instability.

This hasn't happened up until the past week, I've had this PC for two months now. Do you think it could be anything other than CPU instability? I'll update my BIOS and tone down the clock to see if this fixes my problems.

Faulty RAM can also trigger x264 crashes. Generally its a hardware issue though, often caused by OCing.
