Question / Help Consistent OBS crashing on Linux Mint 17.3

My OBS crashes consistently on Linux mint, Usually when I open a menu with a popout (ie: settings) or when I edit a scene - sometimes it will close out the moment I launch, I relaunch and sometimes it will work, sometimes it will keep crashing.
Once it's all set up and streaming, no problems with stability, stream is good quality and it rarely quits out.
Here is a terminal output:

error: X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
error: X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
The program 'obs' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
(Details: serial 499 error_code 3 request_code 3 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Segmentation fault

This issue happens across multiple kernels and Nvidia driver versions.
