Hello there,
I've just purchased an Elgato HD60 S to use with my MacBook Pro (13 inch retina, 2015), without realising how those things don't work too well together, and an NDI Link appears to be required. I managed to get the visuals working OK via the link, but there's that frustrating audio delay due to the NDI (something I've read about here)
I'm considering using the boot camp assistant on my Mac to install Windows, downloading OBS/Streamlabs OBS, and then seeing if the Elgato will send straight through to those instead/be recognised on the device - without the need for the NDI link. And I could stream from the Windows partition of my MacBook (I don't need it to be amazing quality right now, I have a powered USB hub so I'm not pushing the laptop too hard)
I've never done something like this though, so I'm just wondering if any others here have, if it was successful? I haven't used Windows on a Mac before, so not sure how it all works, how much Hard Drive space I'd need to partition off (I have about 120GB space on my MacBook Pro) and - most importantly - if the Elgato would work without the need for the NDI link.
Thanks for any help!
