Connection issues with external devices

Hello, since the release of OBS 28 the streaming experience became far less enjoyable because of numerous issues with external devices. The last update helped out a little bit, but it is still far from the stability of 27.
To describe the problems in detail:
Elgato CamLink 4k - not connecting when starting the software. Only after de-/activating numerous times, plugging it out and in or restarting the software (the software restart works more reliably, but cant be done when already live), the camera gets recognized
Elgato HD60S+ - numerous crashes of the picture, sometimes frozen frame, sometimes no audio (fixing that only works by switching the audio output back and forth). The later it gets into the stream, the less crashes there are. This was a much bigger issue in the first update of OBS 28.
Focusrite Scarlett Solo - the audio is delayed by about 1 second sometime in the middle of a stream. The only fix to this has been plugging out and in the audio interface and it was working as usual.
These are many little things, but they add up and lead me to sometimes having to fix one or the other issue every few minutes. Since obs 28 there has been NO bug-free stream anymore, Im already thinking about switching the software or downgrading.

Also the plugin for application audio capture seemed to work much better in obs 27 than the integrated beta now, quite often i have to reselect the captured software at the start.

Thanks for your time, i hope this can be fixed soon.

I have similar issues, also with Focusrite Scarlett Solo and with Elgato CamLink 4K. Often when setting up the equipment for live stream I have to deselect and reselect the camera and audio. I have two audio sources: a Rode mic feeding into a Canon M50 which connects together through the CAMLINK 4K and our church sound system connecting through the Focusrite. Last Sunday (Easter Day, the most important day of the year) the camera feed froze 5 seconds into the livestream. The operator could not solve it and called me (the priest) to come and help. I redefined the camera which lasted a few seconds until the operator panned the camera on the tripod and then it froze again. Do you have a fix for your problem yet? I apologize if this is the wrong place to post. I haven't posted on OBS before, and I am going to play the senior's card here.

By gods will, I shall help a priest in need.

Well, I’ve not been technically able to fix this issue, but I found a workaround that has worked since then: I am using NVIDIA Studio, which recognizes my camera reliably and works as a virtual camera to send the signal to obs. I do not even have to start the program for this. This might work with other software as well that is designed to apply effects to the camera, yet you don’t have to do so.
But beyond that, your issue of the camera freezing might also lay elsewhere - the camera could be overheating or the bandwidth isn’t high enough. This might be due to a bad cable or low upload speed of the internet. Or your pc is simply too weak to render the picture and you might have to update to one with a better graphics card.
