Hi, I am completely new to this broadcasting lark.
I have a question regarding connecting a Canon XL2 DV Camera as a webcam to my Mac. The lens on the XL2 is so much better then any iPhone or webcam I've seen on the market. If I connect the XL2 to the Mac running FCPX (Firewire) then the computer sees the camera, however, I have heard that to connect a XL2 to OBS a capture card is required? Now I have a MacBook Pro (Late 2016) with Touch Bar so I have a problem on where to put a card. Are there any other options available such as the The UltraStudio Mini Recorder from Black Magic Design which I use to hook my Sony HXR MC2500 Camera to OBS, and works a treat?
The XL2 has a Firewire out on the back of it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
