Hello Guys! Greetings from Germany!

Here is my Setup
-Ryzen 7 2700X
-32GB 3000 CL16
-Geforce 1070 Ti
-Playing at 2560x1440 75 Hz
-OBS Studio with OBS-Auto-Record

So, my plan is to record every minute of gameplay when WoW Classic launches. Streaming isn't planned at all.
Sadly I'm completely new to OBS and recording in general.

The Plugin starts recording automatically everytime i begin playing. This works fine so far.
Recordings should be stored directly on my NAS, after a file is completed it's uploaded to my (unlimited capacity) cloud drive. Also working like a charm.

I wanna store the whole gameplay for the future, it should still look good in maybe 10-20 years. Not like those crappy WoW-captures 15 years ago.
Due to my limited upload (approx. 25 MBit/s) one hour of gameplay should be around a maximum of 20GB, less is better. 8 hours of gameplay would be uploaded in ~15h.
Is it better to record in native resolution or maybe just 1080p60?
Records are stored on a 3TB WD Red. They won't benefit from a SSD, or?

I'm kinda overwhelmed with all the settings and possabilities of OBS.
Could you give me some suggestions which settings fit my needs best?

Thanks in advance!

If you want to make your recordings look like the original, record like the original. That means native resolution, 60 fps. Use simple output settings of OBS, nvenc encoder, indistinguishable quality.
After some hours of recording, check the filesize. if it gets larger than you are able to upload in the long run, choose a lower quality option instead of indistinguishable quality. With a lower quality option you are also able to see what quality you are able to achieve and what quality is good enough for you.

The medium you record to is not relevant, as long as it is locally attached. However, directly saving via network to a NAS can be problematic. May work, but this isn't guaranteed - it's dependent on the performance of the network and of the NAS and of other devices and apps that access the NAS at the same time.
