Hopefully an easy question to answer for u folks ;)
WHen i use OBS i use .mp4 as default then i import that movie file to an video editor...and then export again to .mp4. Is that wise or do I loose video quality at each step?

OBS' recordings are encoded in the H264 video standard using the encoder you specify in settings - output.
Saving directly to mp4 from OBS is NEVER wise. Save to FLV or MKV and use file - remux recordings to convert to mp4 afterwards IF REQUIRED. (If you're uploading to youtube straight without editing, it is NOT required to remux)
