Question / Help Completely New To Streaming

As my title shows, I'm completely new to streaming. I'm sure the answer is out there somewhere but I can't find it. I'm sorry if this is painfully obvious. I'm using a Sony HDV V1U camcorder, with a Firewire directly to a MAC Pro computer. Attempting to do live Facebook stream. I'm using the microphone on the camera and know that I have a signal. I've gotten the video stream through to FB live, but there is no audio. When I go to the set up screen, the camera is not listed as an option. I think I have "Default - Saffire (recording gear) - Digital Line In". I've tried them all, with the exception of Saffire.

Any ideas?

I've seen similar questions before, and support for firewire devices that provide audio seems to be spotty. Try creating a new aggregate device in Audio Midi Setup (in the Utilities folder) and include the output from the camera in it, then choose that device as audio in OBS.

The bottom line is that Macs with firewire are so old at this point, I doubt anyone developing OBS has access to one to develop or test.
