Question / Help Complete playlist automation schedule ?

I run a TV music clips channel, and I use OBS for that, but I need to automate the playlist and schedule. How could I do that using VLC ? Is that possible ? We could use VLC as the player and automate VLC for playing commercials at a given interval, and choose randomly some commercials from a sub-playlist and then, return to the main playlist. How to do that ?
