I think I read somewhere that loilo game recorder compiles video after it's done recording. Why is that not a standard for recording? I get that for streaming it probably isn't possible but for recording that could help a lot.
I guess you mean the software first records raw footage and then encodes it afterwards.
You could record lossless with OBS and then do the encoding later manually.
Personally I dont think its something OBS should do by default for recording. The raw footage could eat up your hard drive space very easily and afterwards you would have to wait for quite some time until the encoding is finished. It would turn OBS into a "Fraps" clone kinda with the added encoding afterwards.
