When i record a video obs says only 1 dropped frame, but when i watch the video it is choppy.
Specs:
  • i5-8600K
  • GTX 1080
  • 16 GB 3000MHZ
OBS Settings
I have it recording as display capture
  • Type: Standard
  • Format: mp4
  • Encoder: NVIDIA NVENC H.264(new)
  • Rate Control: CQP
  • CQ Level: 14
  • Keyframe Interval: 2
  • Preset: Max Quality
  • Profile: High
  • Look Ahead: On
  • Psycho Visual Tuning: On
  • GPU: 0
  • Max B-frames: 2
  • Base Resolution: 1920x1080
  • Output Resolution: 1920x1080
  • Downscale Filter: Lanczos (36 Samples)
On the game it is set to v-sync off 144 fps, i tried locking it to 60 but it was still choppy
obs is on second screen

I figured out the problem, my main screen is 144hz and my second is 60hz
when i made them both 60hz my video was smooth.
couldnt stand it at 60hz for gameplay though so i put it back to 144hz/60hz
and put obs fps to 30 fps and its now smooth.
any fix for this problem?

Try setting the preset to Quality, disabling Look Ahead and Psycho Visual Tuning and turning Game Mode off.
