Question / Help Choppy recording

Hello!

I have been using OBS for 6 months now, always have had decent quality and hasn't lagged or being choppy at all before. Now whenever I record CS:GO gameplay, it will look clear and has no lag at all, but after like 3 minutes, the rest of the gameplay is unwatchable because it has like 10 fps...

Any ideas?

Pc Specs (Laptop):

Intel Core i7-6700HQ @ 2.6 GHz (Turbo 3.5GHz)
GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video
512 GB SSD + 2TB 5400 RPM HDD
16 GB Ram

I enabled QuickSync and set bitrate to 30,000. This looked good but lagged, changed to 25,000. Looks good but starts to lag after a while, then finally set to 10,000 and it still does this???

I changed from CBR -rate control to VBR and it didn't help at all. I have no idea what to do since I've tried to follow some other topics where people have problems with CS:GO

Also recording 1080p/60 FPS.

I DO NOT STREAM, ONLY RECORD!

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Rendering as Direct3D 11 instead of OpenGL

Your system can't cope with the load being put on it. Presumably, because you're playing CSGO, you're maxing out your GPU. Try capping the frame rate in CSGO, cutting the frame rate in OBS down to 30fps, or recording to 720p. You might also try updating to the most recent version of OBS Studio.
