Question / Help Choppy Recording on Laptop with Smooth Gameplay

I've been struggling to find recording settings that will allow me to capture gameplay smoothly on my laptop. I've been attempting to record gameplay from Overwatch, but even though the game runs well while I'm recording and the screen capture looks fine in the OBS menu, the video comes out at very low FPS. My laptop is from 2014 and was built for gaming, but I'm starting to wonder if it's the weak link here. Running Overwatch and nothing else uses up about 20% of my CPU and 45% of my memory (8GB RAM). I'm running Windows 10, if that makes any difference.

I've included my most recent recording log below. I did put my logs into the log analyzer on this site already, but I'm not sure how reliable the feedback is. It told me that it was detecting multiple video cards (I've already specified in the NVIDIA control panel to use only the NVIDIA card for 3D settings) and that my logs were incomplete (I tried both uploading and the pasting the entire text from each log I tried, so I'm not sure what else I'm missing).

Link to the log here:

Let me know if any more information would be helpful for figuring out what's going on. Thanks!

From your log:
Output 'simple_file_output': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 14742 (52.3%)

What that means is that Overwatch is chewing up so much of your GPU that OBS has none to work with. Try turning down your settings in Overwatch.

Also make sure that your system memory is running in dual channel mode.
