Choppy recording after updating OBS

I just updated OBS to the latest version (29.1.3) and after trying to do a few seconds of gameplay recording for a game trailer I noticed the video it creates is very choppy. I never had this problem in the previous version I used. Unfortunately I don't know what that version is but if there's a way of finding out that would be great if I could just re-install that to fix it.

I looked in the Logs and saw a high number of skipped frames but after messing about with various settings I couldn't find anything that changed much.

Here's a link to the log as it seems to be too long to post here: https://pastebin.com/RnA0MipS

Anybody have any suggestions?

your video card is now 6 generations old, and because of the settings being used is overloaded.

Different settings most likely

In settings - output, change the output mode to advanced, go to the recording tab, change the recording encoder to nvenc, rate control to CQP, CQP level to 15, and preset to p1

Welp. Saw in the logs that I was previously using 27.2.4. Downloaded the portable version of that, did a test and it's recording flawlessly.

Guess I'm never updating then.

Yes it is. The program works flawlessly in the previous version but is unusable in the latest version. After searching I see many people are having this issue too and are recommending people not to update. All they need to do is add a GPU detection and use the legacy recording for older cards. Only a simp would defend such incompetence.
